Director, Research and Development (SOG/ST 8)

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director, Operations, this role is responsible for providing the strategic and operational leadership in Research and Development in partnership with local and international stakeholders. The role will seek to identify and examine research activities, which can be used to inform the development of the Jamaican Cannabis Industry whilst establishing a robust public education and communication strategy to promote the importance of a regulated medical cannabis industry. This requires information sharing protocols between the Authority and MDAs, consultants, international databases and networking relationships. 💰 Salary range $7,716,512 to $10,377,851 JMD per annum.

Under the general supervision of the Director Human Resource Management and Administration, the Director 1, Public Procurement has the responsibility to ensure that goods and services required by the Authority are procured and delivered as requested in accordance with the Government of Jamaica’s (GOJ’s) Public Procurement Act, 2015 and Regulations. 💰 Salary range $3,501,526 to $4,709,163 JMD per annum.

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director, Operations, the Director, Licensing and Applications directs the day to day licensing and application processes with respect to the handling of cannabis within the Division. The Director is required to ensure the highest level of efficiency, effectiveness, customer service and professionalism when dealing with both internal and external customers. The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring the adoption and implementation of best practices and policies to improve both the licensing and application processes within the Division. 💰 Salary range $6,333,301 to $8,517,586 JMD per annum.
