Accounting Officer
Summary
The Accounting Officer is responsible for processing journals, AP entries and maintenance of inventory balances for the company's Pharmaceutical and Merchandise Divisions.

Responsibilities
- • Prepare accounting reports summarizing Accounts Receivable (AR) data.
- • Post receipts to the appropriate General Ledger accounts.
- • Monitor client payments and promptly follow up on past-due accounts.
- • Reconcile Accounts Receivable accounts to ensure accuracy.
- • Investigate and resolve AR discrepancies by coordinating with sales, trade promotions, customer service, and suppliers.
- • Review and approve journal entries, cash receipt records, AR aging reports, and cheque postings.
- • Apply overpayments to the relevant invoices and debit entries in receivable accounts.
- • Maintain and update the monthly Accounts Receivable aging report.
- • Assist the Accountant for the Merchandise Division with AR-related tasks and reporting.
The Accounting Officer is accountable to the FC for:
- • Timely updating of accounting information in S2K
- • Timely preparation of reports, reconciliations and journals for processing.
Required Skills
- • Excellent Accounting and Customer Service skills
- • Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
- • Excellent written and oral communication.
- • Ability to apply critical thinking and creativity.
- • Detail oriented, pays keen attention to accuracy.
- • Must be able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure.
- • Highly developed organizational skills
- • Excellent team player with the ability to relate to staff at all levels.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- • Minimum one (1) year working in a similar role
