Security Coordinator

Summary

Under the direction of the Senior Security Coordinator, the Security Coordinator will coordinate, monitor, and enforce aviation security and emergency regulations. This role also involves administering the Airport Security Access Programme and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Security Centre regarding Restricted Area Access and Quality Control and Surveillance systems.

Required Skills

• • Sound knowledge of ICAO, JCAA, IATA aviation security regulations and other applicable standards and regulations, state or local laws and ordinances related to airport operations.
• • Sound knowledge of security measures and techniques used in an airport environment, and electronic access control.
• • Sound knowledge of the legal framework governing security operations.
• • Good working knowledge of passenger screening techniques.
• • Sound knowledge of the procedures for detecting and handling improvised explosive devices.
• • Knowledge of the procedures for the handling of disruptive or unruly passengers.
• • Strong knowledge of investigative and interviewing techniques and procedures.
• • Ability to safely maneuver vehicles in both on and off-road terrains, around air traffic and moving equipment.

Qualifications

• • BSc Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Management Information Systems, Aviation Administration, or equivalent.
• • Minimum of two (2) years of on-the-job experience in an airport security environment, including exposure to aspects of emergency operations.
• • Valid Driver's Licence.
