Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director - Operations, the General Manager, Depot Operations is responsible for delivering a safe, clean, courteous, and reliable public transport service that meets the requirements of commuters along assigned routes, and maintaining optimal levels of operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in the utilization of all resources allocated to the depot. The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC, effective April 01, 2025, will be providing public transit services in the western region, servicing the parishes of Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland, and St. Elizabeth. The Company will deliver public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 16 hours a day. We, therefore, invite suitably qualified persons to fill the following posts for its Montego Bay Depot, effective April 01, 2025. 💰Salary: $7,700,000 JMD per annum payable monthly, and related benefits.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced and highly complex work environment.
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate staff at various levels.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or equivalent qualification.
  • Five (5) years' experience as a manager in operations management, of which at least two (2) years in charge of a business unit or a major cost center.
