Junior Trader, Brokerage
Summary
The Junior Trader, Brokerage has responsibility for providing essential trading and operational support to the trading team. The incumbent would be responsible for supporting the trading team through collaborating with internal units and interface with the JSE, regulators, local and international counterparties. You will work closely with senior traders to facilitate their activities and help ensure timely execution and accurate post-trade reporting and the sharing of market information.
Responsibilities
The Senior Vice President, Investments will:
- • Assist traders in executing orders and monitoring live market activity.
- • Support the preparation of trading reports, tracking performance, and managing trade data.
- • Assist in the maintenance of trading platforms and systems, ensuring that they are functioning properly.
- • Perform market research and data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- • Help manage trade settlements and reconciliation to ensure accurate trade execution and compliance.
- • Provide administrative support to the trading team, including organizing documents and maintaining databases.
- • Communicate with brokers, exchanges, and other stakeholders to resolve trading issues.
- • Assist in monitoring risk and compliance frameworks within the trading environment.
- • Contribute to the development and improvement of trading strategies and workflows.

- • Externally with; Local and International Institutions (Financial Services, Private & Public Sector), Clients, Regulators
Required Skills
- • Strong analytic skills and an ability to balance risk/reward when evaluating investment opportunities.
- • Introductory knowledge of local, and global financial markets.
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively communicate investment philosophy, strategy and performance to internal and external clients.
- • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well with others.
- • Introductory knowledge of the regulatory environment of the local securities dealing industry.
- • Self-directedness and excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
Qualifications
- • Bachelors Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Accounts or any other related discipline.
- • Minimum of One (1) year work experience in Treasury Management, Investment Research, Portfolio Management or Investment Banking.
