Instrument Engineer

Summary

The position calls for an individual with strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to multitask in a demanding environment

Responsibilities

• • Directs and coordinates the Instrument Engineering maintenance and design needs of the Power House and implement solutions to address equipment failure problems.
• • Observes, monitors and/or inspects installation and testing of instrumentation and controls including instrumentation calibration tests.
• • Performs complex technical and administrative tasks relative to the design and coordination of specialized controls and instrumentation systems.
• • Analyzes instrument performance and determines need for modification and/or replacement to guarantee long-term reliability and effective product quality monitoring.
• • Reviews and approves instrument project proposals, design drawings, equipment specifications and control equipment.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power), Instrumentation or equivalent.
• • Minimum 3 years working experience in Instrumentation and Distributive Control Systems.
• • Knowledge of PLC programming, fibre optics and computerized process control systems and technology.
• • Application and maintenance of cable splicing, termination and integrity check procedures.
• • Ability to design and maintain Distributive Control Systems.
