Summary

Collect client payments to update policy and group accounts. Ensure that collected payments across the various business lines are receipted to their intended accounts with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities

  • Process payments on the relevant platforms and collect client deposits and other miscellaneous payments for life insurance policies, mortgage premiums, inter-company, and other miscellaneous payments.
  • Update the appropriate records with payment tender types received.
  • Identify anomalies with policy records being credited as well as the payment of mortgage accounts and take steps to resolve these issues promptly.
  • Process E-Payments for employee benefits administration and pension team and coop deposits.
  • Balance the daily cash reports with the lodgements and prepare documents and cash/ cheques for submission to the bank.
  • Perform other related duties assigned from time to time.

Required Skills

  • Good human relations and time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting.
  • Working knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an associate degree in Business Administration or other related field from a recognized institution.
  • Successful completion of the LOMA (Parts 1 and 2) or other industry related designation would be an asset.
  • At least two (2) years working experience including one (1) year in the operations division of a life insurance company.
