The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, monitoring workplace environments, and developing safety programs to promote a culture of safety across the organization.

Responsibilities

• • Develop, implement, and maintain SHE policies and procedures to ensure adherence to local and international health and safety regulations.
• • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• • Coordinate and deliver SHE training programs for all employees to enhance safety awareness and knowledge.
• • Prepare reports and presentations on SHE performance, including accident and incident reports, and recommend improvements as needed.
• • Lead investigations into accidents and near misses, ensuring that corrective actions are taken and documented appropriately.
• • Serve as a point of contact for SHE-related inquiries and provide guidance on best practices.
• • Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the organization.
• • Collaborate with management and employees to enhance safety measures and promote a proactive safety culture.
• • Stay updated on relevant legislation and changes in the SHE field, and advise management accordingly.
• • Assist in developing emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
• • Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• • Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• • At least 3 years of experience in health and safety management within a manufacturing or related environment.
• • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH or equivalent) is preferred.
• • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SHE management software.
• • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
