Market Development Agronomist
Summary
Applications are invited from dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced agricultural professionals to fill two vacancies in a well-established manufacturing and distribution company. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for, amongst other activities, conducting market, product, and program assessments, demonstrating and transferring agronomic best practices, representing the Company in varied forums, and collaborating with stakeholders in-trade and in-field. ⚠️ Preferably, the Market Development Agronomist should live in the South Eastern Region (St. Catherine/St. Thomas/Kingston & St. Andrew) of Jamaica.
Responsibilities
- • Manage the sales to a portfolio of customers to be assigned.
- • Conduct trainings and assist customers in product knowledge, merchandising, and sales promotions.
- • Develop technical aids, conduct product trials, and field demonstrations with existing and/or new products.
- • Introduce new products to the market, including seeds.
- • Visit Farms, Farmers, Farmer groups, and other stakeholders within the assigned area and offer advice on the use of the company's portfolio in solving their problems.
- • Participate in Trade Shows, sales and marketing meetings, community, and goodwill events as required.
- • Produce timely, accurate, and thorough reports on a schedule determined by Management.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor's Degree in Natural Sciences or Agriculture with high achievement.
- • Master's or higher Degree in Natural Sciences or Agriculture with at least three to five (3-5) years' experience in Agronomy, Agricultural product development, or a related field (Preferred).
- • Possess a general Driver's Licence (Required).
- • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine viable solutions for customers.
- • Results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- • Demonstrated proficiency in using spreadsheets, word processor, and presentation software.
