Maintenance Technician

Summary

The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician, who will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of all equipment and systems within our chicken hatching facility

Responsibilities

The Quality Assurance Technician's, will be inclusive of but not limited to:

• • Perform routine preventative maintenance on all hatchery equipment, including incubators, hatchers, ventilation systems, water systems, and other related machinery.
• • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues promptly and efficiently.
• • Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring minimal downtime.
• • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records of all work performed.
• • Assist with the installation of new equipment as needed.
• • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• • Collaborate effectively with hatchery staff to identify and address maintenance needs.
• • Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner.
• • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.

Qualifications

• • At least a Level 3 Certification in Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance or the equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution.
• • Proven experience preferably in an agricultural, manufacturing, or similar industrial setting.
• • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• • Flexibility to work on shift or respond to after-hours emergencies.

• Physical Requirements:

  • • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and noise.
  • • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
