Summary

The Receiving Officer reports to the Warehouse Supervisor on the shift assigned. The Receiving Officer’s role is very critical in the cycle of control. In addition to physically checking items received for quality, the Receiving Officer must also ensure that the correct quantities are always received. The Receiving Officer must be honest to maintain the integrity of inventory control. The Receiving Clerk is the first contact with goods entering the Warehouse.

Responsibilities

The holder of this job must be compliant to all safety requirements and use the necessary PPE in carrying out their job functions. Perform duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, relevant GMP’s, QMS and Good Warehousing Practices as it relates to this job function

  • Receives products delivered to the Warehouse, bonded warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure all documentation tied to items been received are in full compliance with the required.
  • Thoroughly check all containers and seals at the standard requested by government officials.
  • Transfers all none warehouse products to the respective departments systematically and physically after receiving process has been completed.
  • Fulfil all Bonded pull request.
  • Ensure all documentations are completed in proficient manner.
  • Complete and distribute daily and weekly containers and local receival reports.
  • Participate fully in the reduction of shrink, variances, and damage.
  • Conduct frequent temperature reading of storage areas to ensure they are within target.
  • Records, inspects, checks quality, quantity and price of goods received, making notes, and taking photos where necessary of all discrepancies.
  • Inputs received quantities into warehouse inventory management system and forward the appropriate documentation to the Inventory Control Department, Logistics or Purchasing department.
  • Coordinates the prompt storage of products received from the docks to respective pick and overstock slots.
  • Operate motorized equipment in carrying out daily activities.
  • Monitors fuel for gas station and generators and communicating with the Maintenance department to ensure par levels are maintained.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school leaving certificate.
  • Six (6) CSEC subjects or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems is an asset.
  • Food distribution experience strongly preferred. Food distribution experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Bureau of Standards regulations, HACCP and AEO is an asset.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Demonstrate strong Interpersonal skills.
