Team Leader – Pilot Plant
Summary
The Team Leader, Food Pilot Plant plans, organizes and coordinates all Pilot Plant activities as well as the wider service offerings of the unit (training, workshops and technical consultancies). The incumbent is responsible to provide sound technical supervision to the team and clients to ensure optimum performance of the department. 💰Salary: $6,333,301 JMD per annum.
Responsibilities
- • Plans and direct all pilot plant activities, including employee scheduling, maintenance, material requirements, training, research and operations.
- • Assists in establishing strategic and operational plans for the division
- • Organizes and administers internal training programme to keep team members abreast of industry developments
- • Ensures the supply of required equipment, raw materials and packaging to meet business needs.
- • Organizes workshops and trainings to suit the needs to clients, tertiary institutions and the public
- • Drafts and reviews technical reports for client projects and other special projects
- • Acquires information on current trends, equipment and relevant new technologies
- • Ensures proper use and maintenance of Pilot Plant equipment
- • Ensures compliance with quality management system requirements
Required Skills
- • A strong technical background
- • Good research and technical writing skills
- • Good understanding of food processing principles
- • Excellent communication, people management skills
- • Excellent customer service attitude
- • Good conflict resolution and negotiating skills
Qualifications
- • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology or related area
- • Diploma in Business Administration
- • Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint ) and AUTOCAD
- • Training in Project Management, Project Proposal/Writing
- • Five (5) years’ experience in process engineering and/or food processing in a manufacturing or research and development organization, of which three (3) years should be at a supervisory level
