Chief Financial Officer

Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of all cash management and budgeting activities of the Company; including investment portfolio management, credit management, risk management and insurance. The incumbent will effectively perform their duties while maintaining compliance with all company policies, procedures and local laws.

Responsibilities

• • Assumes overall responsibility for the assets of the company.
• • Leads the formulation of the company's financial and business policies.
• • Advises and consults the Finance Committee of the Board, the General Manager, and the Senior Management team on financial aspects of the company.
• • Works closely with the Head of the Strategic Planning Unit in developing basic assumptions for short- and long-range financial forecasts and is responsible for their final presentation in financial terms.
• • Prepares timely financial statements, analyses, and reports for Management and the Board of Directors.
• • Analyzes financial statements and reports on significant results, including departures from budget, with recommendations on remedial actions.
• • Coordinates the Treasury Management activities for the company.
• • Advises on general financial positions such as asset acquisitions, upgrading, and disposal, in addition to major revenue and expense considerations.
• • Oversees the payroll function of the company.
• • Implements and maintains effective systems and procedures for safeguarding, recording, and controlling all the resources of the company.
• • Implements and maintains effective systems and procedures for processing disbursements, investing, and controlling the funds of the company.
• • Reviews the management information system and internal controls of the organization and implements changes required in light of changing circumstances.
• • Assumes the role of Chairman on several Committees and participates on other assigned Committees.

Required Skills

• Financial Acumen:

  • • Extensive knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
• • Ability to articulate complex issues to diverse audiences and achieve buy-in.
• • Proven decision-making ability and good judgment.

  • • Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making, performance measurement, and evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• • A Master's Degree with a major in Accounting.
• • Minimum ten (10) years of related working experience, with at least five (5) at a senior management level.
• • Knowledge of tax laws, financial reporting methods, government-mandated regulations, and conversant with current accounting principles and practices.
OR
• • Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or equivalent.
• • A minimum of fifteen (15) years' working experience, with at least ten (10) at a senior management level.
