Senior Refrigeration Technician

Summary

Margaritaville Caribbean Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Refrigeration Technician to join our team in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional service and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Installation:

  • • Install, assemble and test new refrigeration and HVAC systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators and related components.

• Maintenance:

  • • Perform preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC systems, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels and inspecting electrical connections.

• Repair:

  • • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in refrigeration and HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical and refrigerant related issues.

• Troubleshooting:

  • • Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve complex refrigeration and HVAC system problems.

• Refrigerant Handling:

  • • Handle and recover refrigerants in accordance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

• Electrical Systems:

  • • Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring and components related to refrigeration and HVAC systems.

• Documentation:

  • • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs and installations.

• Inventory Management:

  • • Manage and maintain an inventory of refrigeration and HVAC parts and supplies.

• Emergency Response:

  • • Respond to emergency calls for refrigeration and HVAC system repairs.

Qualifications

• • Associates degree or technical diploma in HVAC or refrigeration technology. OR proven experience as a refrigeration technician, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• • Experience with energy efficient refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
• • Experience with various commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems (e.g., walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, rooftop units).
• • Bilingual is preferred.

• Physical Requirements:

  • • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
