Scanning Assistant
Summary
Provide efficient administrative support to the branch, management team and receive applications to sort, check and prepare documents for scanning to p360 and retrieve documents upon request.
Responsibilities
- β’ Sort files received for scanning and check applications for completeness by ensuring that all requirements are met and all relevant documents are attached to the application.
- β’ Examine applications for completeness and underwriting requirements and ensure that entries are made to the electronic systems
- β’ Return incomplete applications to the respective branch/advisor and maintain a record of the returns.
- β’ Prepare documents in small batches for imaging, ensuring index fields (policy number and name) are completed on the front page of all documents.
- β’ Date, stamp and update the REQT screen as well as other relevant systems (shared drives) based on document (application/requirement) received.
- β’ Scan all documents ensuring accuracy, legibility and separation of documents scanned.
- β’ Index scanned images in chronological order while validating and verifying information.
- β’ Retrieve original documents upon request.
- β’ Prepare and update reports ensuring timeliness and accuracy of information as agreed.
- β’ Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- β’ Basic knowledge of life insurance principles.
- β’ Sound human relations and time management skills.
- β’ Excellent documentation skills.
- β’ Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- β’ Knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Qualifications
- β’ Six (6) CXC or GCE βOβ level subjects including English Language and a numeric subject.
- β’ LOMA (Parts 1 & 2).
- β’ Minimum of one (1) year working experience in a life insurance company.
