Parish Manager - (St. James)
Summary
The Social Development Commission, a dynamic statutory organization engaged in facilitating empowerment of citizens in communities thus enabling their participation in the National Development process, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following temporary contractual position (Contract will be for six months): Parish Manager - (St. James) Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Parish Manager is responsible for managing the programmatic activities, as well as, coordinate, guide and monitor teams’ effectiveness to enable the desired outcomes, in keeping with the Social Development Commission’s strategic plan. 💰Salary: $4,266,270 to $5,737,658 JMD per annum

- • Sound knowledge of monitoring and evaluation framework;
- • Sound knowledge in programme budgeting and financial management;
- • Sound knowledge in social work principles and practices;
- • Familiarity with community development policies, programmes and best practices;
- • Sound knowledge of the Government’s governance, accountability and accounting framework, including relevant guidelines, regulations and legislation.
- • Ability to design and implement Training and Development initiatives for diverse stakeholders;
- • Ability to prioritise amongst conflicting demands, solve business problems and make rational decisions based upon a sound understanding of the facts in limited time;
- • Proficiency in computer applications such as spreadsheet, word processing and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences preferably Social Work, Social Psychology or any of the Behavioral Sciences and Management or Public Administration;
- • Five (5) years post degree experience at managerial level.
Additional Information and Instructions
Special Conditions Associated with the job:
- • Work will be conducted in an office outfitted with standard office equipment and specialized software. The environment is fast paced with on-going interactions with critical stakeholders and meeting tight deadlines which will result in high degrees of pressure, on occasions. May be required to travel locally and internationally to attend conferences, seminars and meetings.
- • Work will also be conducted in communities on a regular basis;
- • Exposure to weather conditions in the field.
- • Should own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
