Facilities Crew - Electrician

Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the individual has functional responsibility for providing maintenance and operational services in the electrical area in a twenty-four-hour operational environment.

Required Skills

• • Sound practical and theoretical knowledge of the principles of electricity and air condition circuits.
• • Sound knowledge in the use of electrical test equipment and the interpretation of test data.
• • Sound knowledge in electrical installation practices, equipment troubleshooting and repair and control wiring.
• • Sound knowledge of the principles and methods of preventative maintenance.
• • Sound knowledge of safety rules, regulations and procedures.
• • Good knowledge of trouble shooting techniques
• • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, superiors, contractors and the public.
• • Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, airport management, regulatory staff, tenants and concessionaires.
• • Knowledge of computer applications to include MS Office suite

Qualifications

• • Diploma/Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
OR
• • Any combination of training and experience equivalent to grade 10 or a higher-level graduation and four (4) years’ practical experience working in an industry (lighting systems, electrical distribution systems and equipment)
PLUS
• • National Vocational Qualification of Jamaica Level 2.
