Securities Officer

Summary

Provide administrative support to the lending function of the bank by performing the duties in the areas of loan collateral documentation, obtaining and processing information from customers, registration of securities, disbursing credit facilities and confirming financial information on customers/clients/prospects.

Responsibilities

• • Review all security documentation to ensure that collateral is perfected within the legal framework and in accordance with the bank’s policies and procedures.
• • Preparation of all security documents that are required to support approved facilities achieving 100% accuracy and within the stipulated timeline
• • Responsible for all aspects of loan disbursements which includes ensuring that all security and loan documents required are in accordance with credit approvals are received prior to disbursement
• • Liaise and follow up with clients/customers and branch representatives on matters relating to discrepancies/irregularities to relevant securities.
• • Liaison Officer for staff related facilities
• • Follow up of outstanding peril insurance for mortgage loans
• • Manage post disbursement activities which include but not limited to A) monitor the Outstanding Securities Documents Log to ensure compliance within the specified time B) Update the relevant logs to ensure correct tracking of Service Level Agreements
• • Respond to customers’/clients’ questions and enquiries by providing information and assistance as necessary to achieve ultimate customer satisfaction.
• • On a periodic basis ensure the safekeeping of the Securities/Collateral and loan documents inside vault and assist in the dispatch and retrieval of securities as required

  • • Ability to understand, interpret and carry out bank procedures and detailed instructions.
  • • Specialized working knowledge of department procedures and ability to interpret and adapt to change

Qualifications

• • First Degree in Management Studies, Finance, Banking, Economics or FICB or equivalent preferred.
• • Diploma/Certificate in Paralegal Training would be a distinct advantage.
• • Diploma/Certificate in Loan Security Documentation.
• • Credit Training

• Experience:

  • • At least Three (3) years Banking Experience ( would be an asset)
