Summary

The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC will be providing public transit services in the western region servicing the parishes of Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland and St. Elizabeth. The Company will deliver public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 16 hours a day. 💰REMUNERATION: Salary per annum, payable fortnightly and related benefits: Auto Mechanic 1/Auto Electrician 1/Autobody Men 1: $1.7 million JMD per annum Auto Mechanic 2/Electrician 2: $2.1 million JMD per annum

Responsibilities

The incumbent among other functions will perform, periodic preventive and corrective maintenance, repair and overhaul work on electrical/electronic circuitry and components of JUTC's buses and other vehicles OR undertake any nature of minor to major repair including in depth reconditioning of major units, diagnose in depth systems defect and develop methods for repair and test routine.

Required Skills

• • Sound knowledge of automotive electronics.
• • Sound knowledge of the electrical circuitry of motor vehicles.
• • Good knowledge of automotive technology.
• • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and overhaul electrical faults or faults in automotive systems.
• • Good knowledge of relevant safety procedures.
• • Good verbal and written communication skills.
• • Good interpersonal skills.
• • Good time management skills.

Qualifications

• • NCTVET Level 2/ City & Guilds Level 2 in Automotive Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• • At least Two (2) to Four (4) years working experience in a similar position.
