Patch Management Administrator
Summary
Ensure compliance targets are met by the deploying and testing of all patches/ updates for all software and hardware assets within Sagicor Group. Collaborate with Small, Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and team members for infrastructure systems and workstations during the patching process and planning. Operate patch management tools efficiently and follow established policies, procedures and updates and maintain schedule and inventory of updates, firmware level and service packs based on the group’s software and hardware inventory.
Responsibilities
- • Implement automated patch deployment where possible.
- • Deploy operating system upgrades and application updates.
- • Monitor, control and maintain distribution points to ensure efficient patch deployment using distribution points.
- • Provide deployment reports.
- • Escalate problems to the appropriate support team and follow up on their resolution.
- • Ensure that the Service Desk is aware of any problems affecting users as a result of patching.
- • Develop and maintain a comprehensive patch management strategy.
- • Download updates and their associated bulletins.
- • Categorize and liaise with the security team to ascertain if these remove any known vulnerabilities.
- • Timely deployment of updates based on the established schedule.
- • Internet research done on CVE articles and using other security tools.
- • Maintain test environment for all software and hardware assets.
- • Provide reports on the deployment of updates.
- • Liaise with SMEs and external vendors for non-windows systems.
- • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Working knowledge of Windows, Linux and MacOS computer operating techniques and active directory.
- • Proficiency in patch management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Microsoft Intune, Solarwinds, Gluware and Manage Engine Endpoint Central.
- • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell.
- • A basic understanding of IT networking principles.
- • Familiarity with vulnerability assessment tools.
- • Effective oral and written communication skills.
- • Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Studies or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • A minimum three (3) years of working experience in a Linux and Windows environment.
- • Certification in CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate would be desired.
