Senior Personnel Officer (GMG/AM 4)
Summary
The Jamaica Fire Brigade, a Statutory Body of the Government of Jamaica, is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the undermentioned positions: Senior Personnel Officer (GMG/AM 4)
Responsibilities
- • Oversees the work of the leave administrators to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- • Supervises the work activities of the Registry to ensure the efficient operation of the section.
- • Prepares submissions for payment in lieu of vacation leave, special sick leave, and no-pay leave for non-uniformed staff.
- • Assists in preparing submissions for gratuity payments and contract renewals for contract employees.
- • Supports the recruitment and selection process for lower-level non-uniformed staff.
- • Conducts data entry activities, including updating the MyHR+ system.
- • Prepares documents and submissions concerning salary and allowances for various divisions.
- • Drafts documents for staff requests, such as payments of salary in advance and appointment letters.
- • Ensures that submission formats are accurate and submitted in a timely manner, including payment letters, PB letters, and appointment letters.
Required Skills
- • In-depth knowledge of the Terms and Conditions of Employment, Brigade Act, Fire Brigade Regulations, and Staff Orders.
- • Sound knowledge of Human Resource Management practices.
- • Familiar with GOJ Records Management practices, policies, principles, standards, and guidelines.
- • Sound knowledge of Staff Orders, Public Service Regulations, and the Terms & Conditions of Service Manual.
- • Excellent knowledge of Government of Jamaica Leave computation practices.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource, Public Administration/Public Sector Management, or a related discipline.
- • Three (3) years related experience.
- • Associate Degree in Human Resource, Public Administration/Public Sector Management, or a related discipline.
- • Four (4) years related experience
