Summary

Reporting to the Deputy Managing Director, Human Resources & Administration, the incumbent, among other functions, is responsible for coordinating the human resource activities at the depot. This includes, but is not limited to, employee compensation, staff welfare, employee relations, office and benefits administration, attendance management, compiling human resource statistics, updating/preparing payroll information to reflect changes in employee status, and safeguarding the integrity of the Human Resource Management System (HRMS). The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC, effective April 01, 2025, will be providing public transit services in the western region, servicing the parishes of Trelawny, St. James, Hanover, Westmoreland, and St. Elizabeth. The Company will deliver public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 16 hours a day. We, therefore, invite suitably qualified persons to fill the following posts for its Montego Bay Depot, effective April 01, 2025. 💰Salary: $5,100,000 JMD per annum payable monthly, and related benefits.

Required Skills

  • Sound knowledge of Jamaica's labor laws, including the Labour Relations Code and the IRDA.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial relations practices.
  • Ability to maintain and preserve strict confidentiality.
  • Sound judgment and excellent administrative skills.
  • Excellent counseling and human relations skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpretive and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field.
  • At least three (3) years' working experience in a related position.
