Logistics Driver's Assistant

Summary

The Best Dressed Chicken Division of Jamaica Broilers Group Limited is seeking highly motivated and reliable Driver's Assistants to join their Logistics Department. These positions will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of our products to our valued customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Logistics Driver in loading and unloading trucks/trailers with poultry products, ensuring proper handling and temperature control.
• Assist with route planning and delivery schedules as directed by the Logistics Driver or Logistics Supervisor.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle, ensuring it is in safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery dates, times and customer signatures.
• Ensure adherence to all safety and compliance regulations, including food safety and transportation/haulage regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to all customers, including resolving any delivery-related issues.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment within the assigned units.

Required Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, School Leaving Certificate or equivalent qulaification.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs).
• Willing to work on a contractual basis.
