Chief Internal Auditor

Summary

The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) invites suitably qualified persons to enlist in the JDF as a Professional Entry Officer, to fill the following position: Chief Internal Auditor Candidates must meet the following requirements and competencies. Nationality: Be a citizen of the Commonwealth.

Responsibilities

• • Develop and monitor the organisation's overall strategy, continuous improvement plan and quality standards.
• • Assess complex activities to identify potential operational, financial or compliance risks or potential fraud.
• • Identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings.
• • Propose practical and value-added recommendations to address control weaknesses.
• • Prepare audit reports and provide technical advice to personnel on internal audit matters.
• • Monitor daily operations and identify inconsistencies or deviations from established guidelines.
• • Monitor the status of the organisation's operations to ensure proposals and recommendations are being implemented.
• • Maintain knowledge of best practice in Internal Audit.

Qualifications

• • Post Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Management from an accredited institution PLUS professional qualifications - Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certification in Risk Management Assurance.
• • A minimum of five (5) years post-qualification audit experience of which at least three (3) years must have been at a senior management level in external or internal auditing.
