
Teller Supervisor (Mandeville)
Summary
Oversee all Teller operations including scheduling, supervising and providing direction to Tellers to ensure that clients are provided with accurate information, courteous and efficient service regarding client/ bank transactions. Maintain the bank vault and dual custody for treasury cash. Champion Client Experience by proactively engaging and interacting with clients throughout the branch. Lead activities to improve client loyalty results and satisfaction among team members. Provide on-going coaching and development of team members, ensuring a high level of employee capability and engagement.
Responsibilities
- • Actively market/ promote the Bank's products & services to obtain referrals.
- • Monitor the timely processing of incoming client correspondence.
- • Respond to client enquiries and service requests and escalate to relevant personnel/ departments where necessary.
- • Provide direct supervision for the Teller line operations and ensure superior client service is always provided in keeping with Sagicor Bank's client service standards.
- • Check and verify the correctness and completeness of entries for posting and conduct authorization functions.
- • Conduct random spot checks on Tellers’ transactions, cash holdings and all pertinent areas.
- • Ensure that Tellers are balanced, and cash is locked away in accordance with established guidelines.
- • Monitor and maintain all registers related to Teller operations.
- • Ensure that all relevant POCA reports are completed in accordance with guidelines for timely submission to the Compliance Department.
- • Ensure all ledgers/ accounts are balanced daily and differences investigated.
- • Perform custodial duties for Vault, Treasury, Teller cash, ABM and quick deposit box.
- • Prepare excess/ unfit cash for shipment to Centralized Treasury or the Bank of Jamaica.
- • Receive and verify cash orders from Centralized Treasury or the Bank of Jamaica.
- • Manage all cash holding limits in accordance with guidelines.
- • Ensure that night/ day bags are processed in keeping with night/ day Depository Procedures.
- • Assist with the daily opening and closing of the branch/ vault in accordance with guidelines.
- • Perform system branch closure and generate End of Day (EOD) reports.
- • Train, coach and mentor team members/ direct reports.
- • Manage team member performance in accordance with Sagicor Bank performance standards.
- • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • High proficiency in computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- • Demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- • Strong knowledge of Teller line operations and cash balancing procedures would be an asset.
- • Knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- • Knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA), Anti-Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism/Proliferation Policies.
- • Knowledge of the Bank’s code of ethics and service standards.
- • Sound People Management Skills.
- • Strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management Studies, Finance or related field from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • Minimum of three (3) years’ overall working experience in retail banking operations preferably at a supervisory level.
