The Cook reports to the Executive Chef. He or she is accountable for playing their part in preparing and serving food that is consistently excellent. Responsibilities

• • Ensure that the satisfaction of the guest is the main purpose in the Kitchen
• • Keep an eye on quality and product specifications
• • Receive food items from stores and report any discrepancies to the relevant Manager/Supervisor.
• • Ensure good care and maintenance of all tools and equipment used
• • Practice the HACCP system with special attention to general food safety and clean as you go
• • Ensure the EarthCheck Standards on being environmentally friendly in the Kitchens is carefully followed.

Required Skills

• The successful candidate should have:

  • • Have working knowledge of culinary arts
  • • Ensure that the satisfaction of the guest is the main purpose in the Kitchen
  • • Have working knowledge of how to prepare meals in bulk
  • • Have the ability to withstand the physical demands of the job
  • • Be able to work flexible shifts
  • • Be able to work well with peers and leaders at all levels

Qualifications

• • Minimum of three (3) CXC/GCE subjects including English
• • Minimum of one (1) year experience in this field
• • A valid Food Handler’s Permit
