Senior Accounting Officer - General Ledger
Summary
Support the Accounting Manager in delivering timely, accurate, and comprehensive operational and financial information regarding the performance of the business units. Ensure the integrity of accounting processes, with a particular focus on efficient maintenance of the general ledger.
Responsibilities
- • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance reports for review by the Financial Controller
- • Preparation of monthly and quarterly consolidation package
- • Preparation of assigned tax returns (income tax, GCT, VAT, etc.) for submission to the Inland Revenue/Head Office for assigned companies
- • Complete daily and monthly reconciliation statements for assigned general ledger accounts by the agreed timelines
- • Maintain quarterly and annual ECL analysis of company receivables accounts for assigned companies.
- • Complete Accountants’ checklist for assigned company by the 6th working day of the month
- • Complete quarterly payment requests for corporation taxes for assigned companies
- • Produce monthly mid-month forecast for GKRS, GKCTS & GKPS by the 17th day of each month
- • Prepare monthly standard journal vouchers
- • Ensure effective maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and ensure that for every disposal/addition there is a Capital Movement/Capital Expenditure form
- • Ensure physical count of all fixed assets throughout the network is completed every three years
- • Prepare monthly fixed asset schedule for review by relevant supervisor by the 10th working day of each month
- • Assist in the preparation of annual company budgets
- • Preparation of quarterly latest estimate for GKRS, GKCTS & GKPS
- • Perform any other job-related functions as assigned

- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with mastery in Excel
- • Highly confidential
- • Excellent presentation skills
- • Highly proficient in written and oral communication
- • Exceptional interpersonal skills
- • Sound knowledge of computer-based accounting systems
- • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, and good judgment
Qualifications
- • BSc. Degree in Management Studies/Accounting or equivalent
- • Three (3) years' working experience in accounting at similar level
