Enterprise Risk Management Risk Officer
Summary
Assist with the development, execution and maintenance of a comprehensive group-wide enterprise risk management framework. Provide support to the Enterprise Risk Management and Group Compliance Department, at a level that will enhance the effective operation of the department and the achievement of the department’s objectives and initiatives.
Responsibilities
Actively support the implementation and effectiveness of Strategic & Operational Risk Management strategies and initiatives and provide accurate and timely reporting to the Manager:
- • Support periodic performance reviews of the businesses across the group to facilitate accurate enterprise risk management reporting using risk dashboards or other designated reporting tools.
- • Participate as a risk management subject matter expert on corporate or enterprise-wide projects and product committees.
- • Actively support the implementation and effectiveness of Fraud Risk Management strategies and initiatives as outlined and provide accurate and timely reporting to the Manager.
- • Assist in evaluating and analyzing the impact of various risks on the Group’s business lines, new initiatives and products.
Aide in the evaluation of risk exposures across the Group relative to appetite:
- • Evaluate the impact on the Group’s portfolios, assets and resources.
- • Quantify the impact on capital and provide accurate reporting to the Manager.
- • Provide insight, feedback and guidance to the businesses of the Group to ensure an integrated Enterprise Risk Management programme.
- • Support the maintenance of risk related mandates, charters, policies, procedures and the risk taxonomy to ensure their ongoing relevance and currency.
- • Actively support the conduct of periodic risk assessments and ensure the currency of individual risk registers as well as the group-wide risk register.
- • Assist in the preparation of various monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc enterprise risk management board and sub-committee reports.
- • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Professional designations (FRM, PMI-RMP, CERA, CRISC, CIA or other related designation) would be an asset.
- • Successful completion of the CFA designation would be an asset.
- • Ability to speak Spanish would be an asset.
- • Working knowledge of the Banking Services Act, Companies Act, Securities Act, and regulatory requirements for Insurance, Securities Dealing & Banking and new product development of related business initiatives.
- • Understanding of enterprise risk management concepts and practices.
- • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Auditing, Actuarial Science, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, or related professional qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in risk management including knowledge of risk management governance and controls.
- • Understanding of enterprise risk management concepts and practices, including risk identification, assessment, control activities, monitoring and reporting.
- • Experience in Fraud Risk Management, Business Continuity Management or Project Management would be an asset.
