Accounts Officer

Summary

The Accounts Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining accounting records, processing accounts payable, receivable, banking and other financial statements according to established procedures for the TJH Group.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating accounts payable, receivables, and bank entities for processing in SAGE ERP 300.
• Prepare audit schedules, correct potential audit concerns, respond to audit queries, and conduct follow-up actions as required.
• Perform fixed asset reconciliation monthly.
• Prepare and enter journal entries for the group's monthly account closure process.
• Monitor the accounts payable and receivables subledgers, including reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Liaise with the Toll Control regarding toll collections.
• Provide assistance to external auditors as required.
• Provide assistance with the Fixed Asset database and verification of assets.
• Prepare reports as required.

Required Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the laws, regulations, principles, and practices relating to accounting.
• Competence in the use of relevant accounting systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline or completion of ACCA Level 2 or the equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Accounts, with emphasis on Receivables & Payables.
