Project Engineer

Summary

A skilled Project Engineer responsible for designing and delivering HVAC and refrigeration projects, including calculations, drawings, and site evaluations, while collaborating with teams and ensuring quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

As an ​Project Engineer at JTRS, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• • Preparation of engineering deliverables such as load calculations, shop drawings, detailed bills of
• • materials, equipment selections, submittals, cost estimates, and schedules for ventilation,
• • air conditioning, and refrigeration projects.
• • Performing site visits to evaluate conditions or reviewing consultant drawings to aid
• • the design or value engineering process.
• • Assisting with administrative duties such as drawing reviews, creating, or responding to
• • RFI, site observations, and punch items.
• • Working within a collaborative project team environment and possessing good
• • presentation and communication skills.
• • Working with Project Coordinators to collaborate with other skilled trades.
• • Keeping up-to-date with industry best practices and technological developments.
• • Ensuring projects are carried out per the company's standard of quality.
• • Assisting with technical client relationships and sales conversion.
• • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.

Required Skills

• • Excellent oral and written communication.
• • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
• • Experience evaluating and completing tender documents.
• • Knowledge/experience with building HVAC systems design including but not limited to variable refrigerant flow (VRF/VRV) and chilled water systems
• • Knowledge/experience with building management/automation systems is a plus
• • Proficient in building HVAC load calculations
• • AutoCAD and Revit experience
• • Experience with design-build projects
• • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
• • Experience with sustainable design and energy efficiency

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• • Must have at least three+ years of experience designing and successfully commissioning VRF and/or chilled water systems
