Accounting Officer
Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for undertaking tasks within the Receivables, Payables and Disbursements Units and will be expected to utilize appropriate accounting procedures and ensure accuracy, timeliness and adherence to established standards. The incumbent should be highly competent in the use of technology including accounting software and should have demonstrated interest in advancing their career in the field of Accounting. They are expected to remain informed and updated with current accounting standards and to make recommendations for changes and improvements as needed.
Responsibilities
- • Verify and disburse loans
- • Receipt and post payments
- • Prepare bank reconciliations
- • Maintain general ledger
- • Reconcile loan receivables
- • Prepare all payments in accordance with credit terms and Company policy
- • Prepare GCT schedules
- • Prepare audit schedules
- • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- • Prepare and submit monthly reports and other reports as required
- • Any other duties that are assigned from time to time
- • Required to work at a desk and computer for long periods
- • Required to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
- • Required to handle high volumes of repetitive work
- • Required to balance competing priorities
- • Required to deal with queries from internal and external customers in a timely manner
- • Required to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends, as needed

Qualifications
- • Five (5) years’ experience in a Finance/Accounting role at a managerial level in a medium to large organization, with at least three (3) years post-qualification experience
- • Masters Degree in Business Administration is an advantage
- • Strong knowledge of accounting software, data analysis software and Microsoft Office suite of applications
