Dispatcher (Newport East)
Summary
The Role of a Dispatcher is to coordinate activities related to the delivery of bulk feeds and the receiving and dispatching of raw and other materials.
Responsibilities
- • Receiving orders from the Field Office in the case of integrated broiler feeds, and from the Customer Care Department in the case of all other feeds.
- • Placing bulk feed orders with the Production Department
- • Assigning, scheduling, and invoicing all bulk deliveries
- • Communicating with the field office, customer care and customers, to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of feeds.
- • Organizing and scheduling the pick-up and transfer of feed as requested by the Field Office
- • Dispatching feed delivery information, such as delivery tickets and feed transfer tickets, to the Field Office in a timely manner
- • Weighing all incoming and outgoing materials
- • Informing the Security & Compliance Coordinator or Supervisor on duty on the intended destinations of all bulk truck deliveries.
- • Tracking the movement of bulk trucks using the vehicle tracking system and report any suspicious activities to the Security Supervisor and all malfunctions of the tracking systems or devices to the Security Supervisor and the provider of the service.
Maintaining files on all bulk truck drivers to include copies of:
- • personal data, driver’s license, recommendations, police records, accident reports, personal data, security background checks, disciplinary actions taken, etc.
Maintaining files on all bulk trucks which include:
- • maintenance records, copies of vehicle documents (insurance certificates, fitness certificates, registration certificates, carrier’s license), downtime records, etc. Ensure that all documents are up to date.
- • Tracking fuel usage for all bulk trucks to which Newport mills supplies fuel
- • Ensuring that the fuel tanks on the bulk trucks that Newport mills supplies with fuel are locked and sealed as required.
- • Tracking inventory of diesel oil for trucks and generators and order as needed
- • Maintaining records (spreadsheet) of the transfer and pick –up of feed balances from farms
Required Skills
- • Competent in the use of spreadsheets and word processing applications
- • Strong organizational abilities
- • Ability to work with a diverse team
- • Good oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- • At least Diploma is Logistics or related field.
