
Business Development Officer - (Portmore)
Summary
The job holder will be responsible for developing new relationships, selling deposits, lending products and other services of the bank, servicing customers to ensure retention and referring business opportunities to other business entities within the Group.
Responsibilities
- • Develop relationships with referral sources (attorneys, accountants, etc.) and influential community members to identify prospects for new business opportunities.
- • Maintain a strong understanding of each customer’s business, industry, and associated risks.
- • Maintain up to date knowledge of the full range of the bank’s products and services, seeking every opportunity to market same by matching their potential benefits with the current and perceived needs of existing and new customers.
- • Deliver a broad range of deposit and financing solutions to small and medium sized businesses bearing in mind the Bank’s target market.
- • Promote sale of the bank’s products through frequent client meetings and discussions covering investment strategy, account performance, new products, and market developments.
- • Work closely with Marketing, Client Relations, Treasury, Credit, and other business units within Financial Services Division to coordinate all marketing, sales and support services for assigned / targeted accounts.
- • Identify and participates in events in the business and social communities which provides opportunities to interact with existing and potential clients.
Required Skills
- • Good knowledge of local banking regulatory framework and requirement
- • Proven record of exceptional sales and sound judgment are essential

Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Marketing or related discipline
- • Awareness of the local and relevant regional anti-money laundering acts / draft legislation
- • Experienced commercial banker who has a demonstrated record of success in originating new business with small and medium sized business customers and professionals such as attorneys, doctors and accountants.
