Business Architect

Summary

The Business Architect plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes and business information. The Business Architect leads the development of the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) Business Architecture, which forms a key part of the overall Enterprise Architecture (EA). The incumbent ensures that the EA is in line with the overall ICT strategy and business objectives of the ICT Authority. The incumbent also assists in designing the Architecture for MDA and enterprise applications to ensure adherence to EA and the GoJ business goals and objectives. This incumbent aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus is the business motivations, business operations, business analysis frameworks, and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The salary is J$7.16 million per annum plus any current allowances attached to this position.

Responsibilities

• • Defines and communicates business principles, strategy, standards and modelling guidelines.
• • Defines and maintains the business, integration and security architecture.
• • Designs and develops end-to-end integrated systems.
• • Develops and maintains business architecture frameworks, models, and documentation.
• • Serves as liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• • Conducts business process analysis and design to streamline and optimize operations.
• • Conducts regular audits and assessments of business architecture adherence and effectiveness.
• • Develops and maintains the Enterprise Technology Model, ensuring that there is alignment with achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals.
• • Provides architectural consulting expertise and assistance to Analysts, Engineers and other Architects.
• • Develops infrastructure capacity plans.

Qualifications

• • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology.
• • Seven (7) years of information technology experience.
• • Experience in the provision of technical design and development of at least three major information systems and senior technical management experience in a similar or related capacity.
• • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CBAP).
• • Additional certifications in business architecture are highly desirable.
• • Solid understanding of project management principles and practices.
• • Knowledge of government regulations and policies related to information technology.
