
Group Treasury Operations Associate - Stockbrokerage
Summary
Perform the daily transactions that support the activities of the Group Treasury and Asset Management Operations team by providing operational support specifically to the SIJL Trading team, Client Service Representatives and Wealth Advisors for all branches. Give support to the settlement of trades, processing of walk-in stockbrokerage transactions, transfer of accounts between brokerage houses, hypothecation of shares, the creation of JCSD accounts, researching and responding to queries as well as the monitoring and reconciliation of Stockbrokerage settlement accounts. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the system data ensuring that the entire spectrum of the Securities & Treasury Settlement transactions are properly executed for the relevant entities of the Sagicor Group.
Responsibilities
- • Promote quality service standards by observing and delivering consistent quality service in compliance with Service Level Agreements.
- • Attend approved training courses to enhance the development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance.
- • Process client requests submitted via J-trader platform daily.
- • Perform reconciliation of Stockbrokerage related settlement, bank or GL accounts.
- • Transfer accounts between brokerage houses.
- • Complete hypothecation of shares where required.
- • Open accounts on the JCSD Depend System and in T24.
- • Forward the required documents to the Depository for approval of account(s).
- • Process sales and purchases as per client instructions as per established procedures.
- • Prepare and dispatch Inter and Intra Member forms to Jamaica Central Securities Depository as per client request.
- • Dispatch client mandate to the Jamaica Central Securities Depository as per request.
- • Respond to queries and research in a timely and efficient manner.
- • Provide support for other functions within Treasury and Trading Operations as required.
- • Perform any other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Exceptional analytical skills, strong oral and written communications skills, meticulous and detail-oriented.
- • Must be a team player, problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated and possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
- • Proficiency in the use of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- • Able to easily adapt to changing priorities.
- • Sound knowledge of settlements procedures.
- • Working knowledge of various settlements systems both local and international.
- • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members at all levels, stakeholders and officials of other public and private entities.
Qualifications
- • An Associate’s Degree in Finance / Management studies or a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
- • At least one (1) year’s working experience in a Financial Institution would be an asset.
- • Completion of the Caribbean Securities Course would be an asset.
