Summary

The Jamaica Baptist Union (JBU) seeks a dynamic and experienced Director of Communications to lead its communication efforts. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing innovative communication strategies to highlight the impact of Baptist churches and ministries in Jamaica and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive public relations and communication programs.
• Manage media relations, including press conferences and media inquiries.
• Oversee the production of publications, including the "Baptist Reporter."
• Manage the JBU's digital presence, including the website and social media platforms.
• Create compelling content for various channels, including radio broadcasts and print materials.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote JBU initiatives.
• Provide strategic counsel to the General Secretary and other leaders.

Required Skills

• Exceptional communication and writing skills.
• Proven experience in public relations and media management.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• A deep understanding of digital communication strategies.
• Knowledge of crisis management.
• A commitment to the mission and values of the JBU.
