Chief Executive Officer
Summary
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) heads the management team and is responsible for the strategic leadership, transformation, and general administration of the Corporation. Reporting directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the CEO will drive innovation and sustainability in the delivery of high-quality public broadcasting services via television, radio, and digital platforms. 💰Basic Salary: $9,401,821 - $12,644,404 JMD per annum.
Responsibilities
- • Leading the strategic development and execution of PBCJ's multi-platform broadcasting initiatives
- • Overseeing budget planning, financial reporting, and transparent resource allocation
- • Supervising content acquisition for television, digital platforms and commissioning/sales for radio
- • Guiding the integration of new technologies, including live streaming, podcasting, and on-demand media
- • Providing executive oversight of recruitment, performance management, and organizational development
- • Ensuring editorial independence, media ethics, and compliance with industry regulations
- • Driving audience engagement strategies and innovation in content delivery
- • Representing the Corporation in national, regional, and international partnerships and forums
- • Providing regular technical advice and reports to the Board on strategic, operational, and reputational matters impacting the Corporation
- • Monitoring the implementation of strategic, corporate, and operational plans against performance targets, and initiating corrective action as required
- • Ensuring the Corporation is responsive to national priorities and that public service broadcasting aligns with government development goals
- • Leading the development and execution of corporate policies and quality management systems that enhance transparency, efficiency, and compliance
- • Ensuring the preparation and timely submission of annual reports, audited financial statements, and procurement compliance reports
Required Skills
- • Proficiency in managing content performance metrics and content management systems
- • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Copyright, Libel, Data Protection)
- • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- • Strong negotiating, team-building, and staff development capabilities
- • Ability to analyze and interpret national policy developments for programming relevance
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant digital media tools
Qualifications
- • A graduate degree in Communications, Media Management, Creative Industries, Journalism, Business Administration, Entertainment Law, or a related field
- • Minimum 10 years of senior management experience, preferably in broadcasting, media, or a public service environment
- • Demonstrated understanding of radio and television production, digital content strategy, and public service broadcasting
- • Experience in digital transformation and audience growth strategies
