Application Tester

Summary

Support the business requirements for the provision of system testing services. Support business related test activity on a project, as guided by the Test Analyst. Identify and subsequently define the required tests and execute the test coverage.

Responsibilities

• Undertake all system test related activities in support of the business requirements for the provision of new and updated systems.:

  • • Prepare test cases, test scripts, and test reports for an application testing strategy/ approach.
  • • Participate in functional, integration and regression testing, or other test types, to ensure appropriate test coverage according to application requirements.
  • • Perform end to end testing of applications including requirements understanding, test planning, test case and scenario development, test execution, results analysis and manage test data.
  • • Work with teams in a collaborative style to engage partners and proactively manage testing activities.
  • • Improve quality of applications and user satisfaction by minimizing the number of defects that go into User Acceptance Testing and production.
  • • Generate test metrics and record appropriately using standardized formats.
  • • Participate in the re-testing of defects and issues.

• Support other test team members and associated Information Technology resources, as appropriate, through the execution of testing related activities.:

  • • Assist with attended testing, by retrieving/ obtaining data or peripheral devices for use in test execution.
  • • Ensure compliance with defined processes pertaining to preparation and escalation of defects.
• • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
• • At least one (1) year working experience in a business/ computing environment.
