Summary

The Relief Merchandiser will be responsible for merchandising and maintaining all the products distributed by the company in supermarkets and retail stores in the specified regions to enhance customer experience, increase sales, and maximize inventory turns.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain attractive presentation of the company’s products in compliance with Planogram.
  • Ensure adequate products are available to the consumer.
  • Ensure set compliance with planogram.
  • Obtain additional shelf-facing wherever possible.
  • Identify suitable positions for floor, shelf displays (Merchandisers MUST obtain Retailers permission to put up displays.
  • Build displays and maintain display materials.
  • Install Point-Of-Sales materials in all key areas as it is necessary to achieve strong visual impact.
  • Remove damaged and expired goods from shelves.
  • Report to Merchandising Supervisor, Regional Sales Manager, and Sales Representative out of stock situation.
  • Report any other activity that might be significant eg. Competitors’ promotions, pricing etc.
  • Ensure that company’s products are priced correctly for regular and promotional purposes and give special attention to In-Store promotion.
  • Maintain good relationship with Retailers and consistent in maintaining high standards.
  • Display the assigned products in prominent positions.
  • Always check for new competitive product lines and relay information to Supervisor.
  • Work on own initiative to increase sales in outlet.
  • Always report to work neatly attired in the uniforms provided by the company.
  • Always be punctual and consistent in working on Saturdays.
  • Gain knowledge of work to achieve goals of the Merchandising Division.

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Must be computer literate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Must be able to function independently and handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure.

Qualifications

  • 3 CSEC subjects
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in sales or marketing
  • Strong Customer Service Skills
  • Experience in the merchandising or retail field is an asset.
