Summary

Support the structure, origination and execution of debt, equity and other complex transactions through conducting research and financial analyses on corporate entities. Prepare financial reports and presentations that will guide the decision-making process of the Capital Markets Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial statements analysis to gain insights on the financial performance of companies including, but not limited to, liquidity, operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Develop and maintain customized financial models to assist with the evaluation and execution of transactions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations of a financial nature to aid with decision-making for capital markets transactions.
  • Update weekly logs of issuances of securities within the local capital markets.
  • Aid with the preparation of internal reports to various management committees monthly.
  • Prepare and make presentations to relevant internal and external stakeholders, primarily comprising the Capital Markets units and its clients.
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of the local, regional and international capital markets and a general knowledge of key industries and competitive positioning.
  • Competent in financial statements analysis, company valuation and financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team to achieve results.
  • Naturally curious and display initiative.
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages such as word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or its equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • At least two (2) years’ working experience in a similar capacity.
  • Pursuing or having obtained a pass in the Level 1 CFA exam, the Jamaica Securities Course of the Jamaica Stock Exchange and/or the Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) certification or their equivalent would be an asset.
