Summary

As an Assistant Cost Controller, you are responsible for examining, analyzing, and interpreting accounting records to prepare accurate financial statements. This role will require providing insightful advice and conducting extensive audits to evaluate statements prepared by others. In addition, you will have the opportunity to install or advise on systems of recording costs and other financial and budgetary data to streamline and optimize company processes.

Responsibilities

  • • Analyze and interpret accounting records to ensure financial statements are accurate and in compliance with regulations.
  • • Provide advice on financial matters to management and other stakeholders.
  • • Conduct extensive audits and evaluate statements prepared by others.
  • • Develop and implement efficient systems for recording costs and other financial data, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • • Prepare financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in planning, coordinating, and executing financial projects and programs.
  • • Ensure compliance with GAAP, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • • Maintain a clear understanding of evolving financial practices, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • • Continuously assess and improve financial processes, making recommendations for improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • • Complete additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
    • • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Certifications:

    • • Certifications may be required or preferred.
  • Work Experience:

    • • Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise
    • • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
    • • Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations
    • • May lead functional teams or projects/programs
    • • Has 7 to 9 years of work experience
