
General Accounting Supervisor
Summary
The JUTC is a limited liability company incorporated under the Companies Act of Jamaica and owned by the Government of Jamaica (GOJ). Reporting to the Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport, the JUTC is the exclusive provider of public transit services in the Kingston Metropolitan Transit Region. The Company delivers public transport services seven days a week and, in some instances, up to 14 hours a day. We, therefore, invite an individual who is analytical, efficient, and detail-oriented team player with qualities to join the JUTC as our General Accounting Supervisor. 💰Salary: $5,198,035 JMD per annum payable monthly, and related benefits.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the General Accounting Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger management. Key duties include ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all transactions, preparing periodic financial statements, maintaining the fixed asset register, reviewing journal entries, reconciling sub-ledgers, and reviewing bank reconciliations. The role also involves ensuring the accuracy of financial data and providing timely information to support effective management decision-making.
Required Skills
- • Functional knowledge of accounting standards
- • Good knowledge of the FAA Act and related legislations.
- • Excellent leadership skills, exceptional organization, planning and administration skills
- • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- • Experience using SAGE/ACCPAC software in a professional role
- • Analytical mind and excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills
- • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
- • Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Management Studies with Accounting or Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from an accredited University with at least five (5) years relevant experience
- • ACCA Level 2 with at least five (5) years relevant experience; four (4) years working experience in accounts at a supervisory level.
