Sanitation Attendant - Couples Negril

Summary

The Sanitation Attendant reports to the Sanitation Manager. He or she is accountable for playing their part in ensuring the experience of our Guests is consistently excellent. This person is a team player, carefully trained, multi-skilled, flexible, courteous and friendly.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning & Sanitation:

  • • Wash, clean, and sanitize all dishes, glassware, cutlery, and kitchen equipment.
  • • Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, kitchen surfaces, and food preparation areas.
  • • Follow proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.
  • • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including HACCP and hotel sanitation policies.

• Equipment & Inventory Maintenance:

  • • Store cleaned items in their designated areas to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • • Inspect and maintain dishwashing machines and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
  • • Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • • Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when restocking is needed.

• Kitchen & Food Preparation Support:

  • • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when needed.
  • • Support functions and catering events by ensuring all service items are cleaned and available.
  • • Ensure kitchen floors are dry and free from hazards to prevent slips and falls.

• Teamwork & Collaboration:

  • • Work closely with the kitchen, restaurant, and bar teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • • Follow instructions from the Sanitation Manager and Management Team.
  • • Assist with deep-cleaning tasks as assigned, including exhaust hoods, ovens, and storage areas.

Qualifications

• • Have a minimum of two (2) SSC, CXC/GCE subjects including English
• • Have a minimum of one (1) year experience in this field
• • Have a valid Food Handler’s Permit
• • Have working knowledge of sanitation operations within a hotel.
• • Have working knowledge of the department’s deportment, presentation, sequence and service standards
• • Have excellent customer service skills
• • Have the ability to withstand the physical demands of the job
• • Have the ability to work flexible shifts
• • Have the ability to work well with peers and leaders at all levels
