Director – Policy, Standards, Guidelines & Compliance
Summary
The Director – Policy, Standards, Guidelines and Compliance (PSGC) provides strategic leadership for the Branch. The incumbent shall be responsible for the development of essential/pivotal policy, guidelines and standards in the areas of Applications, Technology, and Information Security for the Government of Jamaica ICT initiatives, projects and programmes, ensuring that the applicable PSGs are documented, communicated and disseminated among the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs). The position supports ICT capacity building by guiding and recommending specific development requirements to ensure the effective implementation of initiatives across the sector. The Director also oversees the development and implementation of ICT compliance strategies, ensuring that the PSGs are being adopted and adhered to by the MDAs. The salary is J$8.51 million per annum plus any current allowances attached to this position.
Responsibilities
- • Oversees the development of Policy, Standards, Guidelines (PSGs) for implementation across MDAs.
- • Explores and recommends appropriate technologies to effectively and efficiently undertake the Branch’s work programme.
- • Develops and implements a comprehensive ICT Compliance strategy for the Government of Jamaica (GoJ) that is aligned with best practices and industry standards.
- • Prepares Risk Management Plan to identify and assess ICT Compliance Risks as well as develop the appropriate mitigation strategies.
- • Leads crisis communication planning and response efforts.
- • Leverages data analytics to track the impact of communication activities on business outcomes.

- • Proficient in ICT Project Management Methodologies.
- • Excellent knowledge of ICT Security and Risk Management Principles and Practices.
- • Excellent knowledge of ICT standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration from a recognized tertiary institution.
- • Nine (9) years management experience, with exposure to Cloud Computing, Data Centres, resource planning, ICT Project Management and Leadership
- • Experience in Network Analysis, Engineering and Design & Implementation
- • Experience in ICT compliance
- • Experience with ITIL and service management principles.
- • Experience in assessing and recommending technology solutions.
