Summary

The Social Development Commission, a dynamic statutory organization engaged in facilitating empowerment of citizens in communities thus enabling their participation in the National Development process, invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the following temporary contractual position (Contract will be for six months): Parish Administrators (St. Mary, St. James & Hanover) Under the direction of the Parish Manager, the incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating all administrative activities at the parish office, as well as, assist with the management of human resource activities in the parish as it relates to performance appraisals, recruitment, benefits administration and safety and health standards and practices. 💰Salary: $1,439,455 to $1,935,907 JMD per annum

Required Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
  • Knowledge of Corporate Secretarial and Administration and procedures for meetings.
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Proficiency in the use of relevant computer applications.
  • Good organizational, time management skills and high level of initiative and flexibility.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills including tact and confidentiality.
  • Principles and practices of business letter and report writing.
  • Sound planning and organizing skills.
  • Basic statistics and quantitative analytic techniques.
  • Good integrity/ethics exercised in the performance of duties

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Business Administration, Business Studies or other related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution;
  • Certified Administrative Professional Designation;
  • Four (4) years secretarial experience.

Additional Information and Instructions

  • Special Conditions Associated with the job:

    • Travelling to various locations to perform work-related assignments and/or attend meeting.
    • May be required to work outside of normal working hours.
    • Should own and operate a reliable motor vehicle.
