Analytics Manager
Summary
The Analytics Manager will work closely with leaders across product, sales, and marketing to support and implement high-quality, data-driven decisions. The Analytics Manager will ensure data accuracy and consistent reporting by designing and creating optimal processes and procedures for analytics employees to follow. The Analytics Manager will use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.
Responsibilities
Overseeing the sales analytics team:
- • Manage a team of analysts, providing guidance and direction to ensure the team meets its objectives.
Developing and implementing sales strategies:
- • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth and profitability.
Creating and maintaining sales forecasts:
- • Develop accurate sales forecasts, identifying areas of opportunity and risk, and providing recommendations to senior management.
- • Communicate expectations and targets and monitor sales team progress.
- • Report sales incentive and commission initiatives to ensure timely administration.
- • Gather and update market metrics related to customers status, competitive landscape, market size, and market penetration.
Collaborating with other departments:
- • Work closely with marketing, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure alignment and optimize sales performance.
- • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities.
- • Design and build technical processes to address business issues.
- • Oversee the design and delivery of reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
- • Recruit, train, develop and supervise analyst-level employees.
- • Ensure accuracy of data and deliverables of reporting employees with comprehensive policies and processes.
- • Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, mining and engineering as well as modeling, visualization and communication deliverables.
- • Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing and product teams.
Oversee the data/report requests process:
- • tracking requests submitted, prioritization, approval, etc.
- • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, budget and business within your department and design/implement solutions to meet these needs.
- • Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective management of analyst and data employees and effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- • Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders within and outside of the company.
Key Performance Indicators:
- • Application delivery – consistency in delivery of functional data.
- • Breadth – relevance across lines of business.
- • A delivery road map – a plan that shows the gradual deployment of analytics applications and data acquisition. Show what will be deployed as well as the specific metrics used to determine delivery priorities and time frames.
- • Data Completeness – ensure that database is accurate and kept up to date.
Required Skills
Strong leadership and management abilities:
- • Proven experience in managing teams and leading cross-functional projects.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills:
- • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to inform business decisions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills:
- • Effective communication of complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
Deep understanding of sales processes and metrics:
- • Familiarity with sales metrics, such as conversion rates, pipeline velocity, and sales cycle length.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- • At least five years of experience in sales leadership, with a track record of achieving revenue targets and driving business growth.
- • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and reporting.
