Teller - (Clarendon)

Summary

Have responsibility for the timely execution of foreign currency trade transactions. Act as a vault custodian, monitor and balance cash holdings and prepare cash shipments and cheques for deposit to bank. Conduct Know-Your-Clients reviews and update client records. Contribute to the client experience by providing professional and attentive service to clients.

Responsibilities

• • Deliver quality client service according to Sagicor Group Jamaica’s service standards.

• Assume ownership of client issues at first point of contact.:

  • • Ensure appropriate escalation to supervisor or relevant personnel/ department.
• • Process foreign currency trade transactions.
• • Perform custodial duties of the vault.
• • Prepare excess cash for shipment to service providers.
• • Process petty cash payments.
• • Monitor and balance cash holdings.
• • Balance and image cheques for deposits and prepare bank deposits.
• • Prepare counterfeit notes reports for submission to the Central Bank.
• • Updating and maintenance of client records
• • File worksheets and receipts.
• • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Required Skills

• • Knowledge of teller functions/ cash handling procedures & POCA regulations would be an asset.
• • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, in particular, Microsoft Excel.
• • Strong reasoning & mathematical skills and knowledge of accounting principles.
• • High degree of accuracy and attention to details.
• • Knowledge of customer service principles.
• • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• • Effective communication skills.
• • Effective team player.

Qualifications

• • Minimum of an associate degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration or related discipline from a recognized institution.
• • At least one (1) year working experience in operations or customer service in a financial institution.
