Supervisor - NOSTRO and Branch Reconciliation
Summary
Supervise the daily operations of the Unit to ensure adherence of the established Service Level Agreements as it relates to Audit Confirmation, Withholding Tax Certificates, Nostro and Branch Reconciliations. Monitor general ledgers to ensure proper reconciliation preparation and that accounting standards are maintained. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures in order to identify fraud and mitigate operational, reputational and financial loss. Provide administrative support to the Manager of the Reconciliation Unit that will enhance the effective operation of the unit and aid in the achievement of its goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
- • Monitor the daily activities of the Nostro & Branch Reconciliations Unit, ensuring that deadlines and service level agreements are met.
- • Review Branch Reconciliation reports and ensure referral or clearance within the stipulated timelines.
- • Review Nostro/BOJ Accounts.
- • File all reconciliation reports.
- • Review all Audit Confirmation and Withholding Tax Certificate requests received, log and distribute for preparation in a timely manner.
- • Monitor and sign vouchers to ensure that all associated fees are collected and accurately calculated.
- • Check and authorise uploads to the general ledger accounts.
- • Record and maintain custodial registers/master record.
- • Provide details to the department Manager for audit exceptions.
- • Complete user request IDs for new team members and submit to Manager for Approval.
- • Submit status change for official cheques to Production Support.
- • Promptly escalate issues to the Manager regarding any deviations from procedures and any critical activities that occur during the day.
- • Perform other job-related duties assigned from time to time.
Required Skills
- • Sound knowledge of the general ledger reconciliation process and the ability to produce reports.
- • Sound knowledge of the Bank’s Policies and Procedures.
- • Good knowledge of the Jamaica Bankers Association Clearing House Rules.
- • Sound knowledge of the Bank’s Computer Systems.
- • Sound knowledge of computer software packages including spreadsheet and word processing applications.
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, research, writing, inter-personal and communication skills.
Qualifications
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- • Five (5) years’ working experience in the Financial Sector with at least two (2) years supervisory experience.
