Licensing & Compliance Associate
Summary
Do you have a degree in Psychology, Marketing, Business Administration, Entertainment Management, or related fields? We are looking for you! We are an Intellectual Property Rights Administration Company that administers rights on behalf of local and international music rights-owners. We require the services of exceptionally sharp and driven candidates to be part of its growing team of licensing personnel. The successful candidates would be joining a highly specialized team working in a productive and progressive environment where superior service delivery is not a goal but a practice. The company is seeking an individual who will help to broaden the reach and penetration of its licensing and compliance activities. It aims to significantly increase the concentration of businesses that are compliant in the use of copyrighted sound recordings that fall under its administrative control. The company, therefore, seeks a motivated, self-assured, persuasive, and focused individual who has the highest level of integrity and can demonstrate and maintain professionalism under all circumstances.
Responsibilities
- • To research and analyze information from wide-ranging sources to determine relevant music use by businesses.
- • To identify and document business establishments, premises, and event organizers operating without the requisite copyright license.
- • Engage in structured business processes designed to increase rates of compliance.
- • To work with a team in the office that handles daily processing of Permit and License applications.
- • To attend events/premises where recorded music is played, to do verification checks, and gather evidence where necessary, using designated instruments.
- • To explain the operational and licensing processes of the company to unlicensed businesses.
- • To utilize established systems and processes for follow-up, relicensing, compliance, and enforcement.
- • To gather business intelligence that can improve the company's licensing strategies.
- • Prepare periodic performance and strategy reports for use by management.
Required Skills
- • Must be proficient in using the Microsoft Suite applications, in particular Excel and Word.
- • Must be highly adaptable to the use of specialized business software and applications.
- • Knowledge and understanding of the copyright field is a definite advantage.
Qualifications
- • Must possess at least a First Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Psychology, Entertainment Management, or related fields.
- • Must be at least twenty-seven years old with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
- • Must own a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license.
