Construction Manager (Level 7)

Summary

The National Works Agency, an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the under-mentioned position: Construction Manager (Level 7) 💰Salary: $5,198,035 JMD per annum

Responsibilities

• • To collaborate with the Director, Major Projects in ensuring that regular expenditure control summaries are produced to show expenditures incurred against approved financial allocations.
• • To compile an annual estimate of expenditure relating to construction work in progress or proposed.
• • To ensure that all statutory notices are served particularly by contractors employed.
• • To ensure that all plant, vehicles, buildings and equipment used on construction sites are correctly handled and maintained.
• • To understand clearly, conditions of contracts, specifications schedules drawings and procedures for measurement in respect of each project under his supervision.
• • To ensure that high standards of quality and service are maintained by all operating units and contractors.
• • To guide and advise team on work planning and plant, equipment and labour utilization.

Required Skills

• • Construction Management skills
• • Decision making and problem-solving skills
• • Excellent knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Procedures
• • Good communication skills

Qualifications

• • B.Sc. degree in Construction or equivalent
• • 7-10 years' experience in construction with at least five (5) years' experience at a management level
